Transparent Browser Storage

Cookies & Storage Policy

Last Updated: October 6, 2026 • Effective Date: October 6, 2026

This Cookies Policy explains how Ruqeva ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies, local browser storage, and related technologies on our website and business applications. We are committed to transparency and minimal data retention.

1What are Cookies and Local Storage?

Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. In addition to cookies, modern web applications utilize HTML5 Local Storage (`localStorage`), which functions similarly by saving non-sensitive preferences directly in your browser. These technologies allow websites to recognize your device, maintain active login sessions, and remember user settings.

2Categories of Storage We Use

Ruqeva strictly limits cookie usage to what is essential for security and platform operation:

Name / KeyTypePurposeDuration
refreshTokenHttpOnly CookieStrictly necessary for secure owner authentication & session renewal. HttpOnly prevents client-side JavaScript from directly accessing the cookie, reducing the risk of token theft through script injection (XSS attacks).30 days
ruqeva-access-tokenLocal StorageShort-lived cryptographic token for authorizing API requests on behalf of the business owner.Session / Rotated
ruqeva-user-sessionLocal StorageStores non-sensitive workspace identifiers (workspace slug, owner display name) to provide instant UI hydration without layout shift. Raw email addresses are excluded to adhere to strict data minimization under the DPDP Act.Persistent
ruqeva-active-branch-idLocal StorageRemembers the currently selected branch location for multi-location business workspaces.Persistent
ruqeva_cookie_consentLocal StorageRemembers your cookie consent choice so the banner does not repeatedly appear on each visit.1 year
themeLocal StorageRemembers your preferred light or dark mode display setting.Persistent

3Third-Party & Advertising Trackers

We do NOT use cross-site behavioral advertising cookies or third-party ad networks.

We do not sell, rent, or monetize user browsing habits. The fonts on our platform are self-hosted via Next.js at compile-time to prevent external IP telemetry to third-party CDNs.

4Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block cookies entirely or clear existing cookies upon browser closure:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Third-party cookies
  • Apple Safari: Preferences / Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Note Regarding Essential Cookies:

Because authentication tokens (`refreshToken`) are strictly necessary to maintain secure access to your business workspace, blocking all cookies in your browser may prevent you from logging into your dashboard.
